Central Districts Field Days, is a unique agricultural event that attracts over 26,000 people each March for three days, to friendly Feilding in the Manawatu where they connect, discover and experience the future of New Zealand’s primary industries.

For over 30 years CD Field Days has been a mainstay for the rural community, evolving from a small collection of marquees into a major national event that attracts over 26,000 visitors to the heart of the North Island. This event is more than a field day—it's an opportunity to discover, connect, and experience the future of New Zealand's primary industries. From cutting-edge machinery and rural innovation to thrilling competitions, there's something for everyone, whether they're from the farm or town. While our roots are in agriculture, our event caters to a diverse audience. We proudly showcase a wide range of products and services, from the latest automotive and heavy equipment to innovative homes, lifestyle products, and an incredible selection of gourmet foods. This variety is what makes our event a destination for all.


Event History

CD Field Days celebrated its 30th year in 2023 and continues to be one of the largest and most well-established regional field days in New Zealand, generating over 50 million dollars in economic impact, its roots stretch back to 1993 when it was introduced by Don Eade as an annual event.

If you've visited CD Field Days over the years you’re bound to find that a number of things don’t change:

  • Its location at Manfeild, compelling a transformation from a paddock to a mini town over a matter of days.

  • The presence of farm machinery and tractors, hallmarks of the industry and the people who come to see them.

  • The thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors, united in their passion for a thriving primary industries.

Equally, there are many ways you can see how the three-day event has grown up over time. Central Districts Field Days started with 230 sites occupied by exhibitors, and has now grown to more than 500. The appetite from businesses to be a part of the event has only increased as word spread about the success exhibitors were having.

CD Field Days is host to the National Excavator Operator Competition, the NZFC Central Districts Doubles fencing competition, and the SNIWC Golden Loader Competition, all running along side numerous product demonstrations, live entertainment, a dedicated Cuisine Pavilion and a premium bar where you can kickback and relax with a topnotch drop from local brewing legends Brew Union.
